CalendarAlerts+
I’m more of the video type, is there a video that shows how CalendarAlerts+ works?
Yes, you can find a video overview here
I set alerts for events but I am not getting notifications. What is going on?
CalendarAlerts+ depends on the default iOS Calendar application for notification display. Please ensure that notifications are enabled for the Calendar application. If you are still experiencing problems contact us.
Why am I limited in the number of alerts I can make?
Many calendar types allow an unlimited number of alerts, but there are two known exceptions:
- Outlook / Exchange calendars are limited to one alert per event
- Google calendars are limited to five alerts per event
At this time, these limitaitons are beyond the control of CalendarAlerts+
My calendar suddenly looks like this, what happened?

This is a known issue that occasionally happens when you rotate from landscape to portrait (usually outside of CalendarAlerts+) and then return to CalendarAlerts+. Rotating to landscape and then back to portrait should restore the calendar to its normal portrait appearance. We hope to resolve this issue in a future update.
What do the dots mean under the dates in calendar view?
- 1 dot = 1 event that day
- 2 dots = 2 events that day
- 3 dots = 3 events or more that day

How do I add an alert to a calendar event?

You can add an alert by clicking the + button at the top right of the event details page
How do I remove an alert from a calendar event?

You can remove an alert by swiping from right to left on an alert and clicking the trash icon
What events are shown in list view?
By default, list view shows a searchable list of the next four years worth of events starting with the current day. Starting with version 1.2, you can use the “Show Future Events” and “Show Older Events” buttons to add a year of future or past events each time you press the button.
You can restore the default range of four years from the current date by pressing the “Restore Default Date Range” button from the action menu.
Should I use the alerts section in the event editor?
While you can use the alert section in the event editor, this editor is essentially the same one used in the iOS calendar app and subject to the same limitations (maximum two alerts and only ten different alert choices). Use CalendarAlerts+ own alerts interface to add more than two alerts or create alerts for custom time periods or specific dates.
What do I need to know about specific date alerts?
Specific date alerts allow you to set an alert for a calendar event on a specific date and time (example January 5th at 2pm) rather than a time relative to the event (20 minutes before the start time).
Not every calendar server properly supports creating specific date alerts. Below is a table that lists some common calendar types tested with CalendarAlerts+ and the results.
| Calendar Type | Specific Date Alert Support |
|---|---|
| Local iOS Calendar | Supported |
| iCloud | Supported |
| Fruux (CalDAV calendar) | Supported |
| Specifc date alerts created up to 28 days before are converted to relative alerts. Specific date alerts created more than 28 days before are saved properly | |
| Outlook / Exchange | Specific date alerts are converted to relative alerts |
| Yahoo | Not supported (Specific date alerts are not saved) |
